Frequently Asked Questions

Does working with you replace medical care?

Working with a registered nutritional therapist does not replace the medical care you receive from your doctor.  I work alongside your medical practitioners to support your wellbeing, and with your consent, I will liaise with them about testing and my nutritional and lifestyle recommendations that complement the care they provide.

Do you use a particular diet?

No! Every client is unique with individual needs and preferences.  I curate sample meal plans and recipes based on your tastes and situation.

Can I just book one session initially?

Clients with chronic conditions require time and commitment to feel real change.  While some clients find they can adopt many changes at once, others do better with a phased approach.  My programmes have a minimum of three sessions to set a plan, make adjustments, monitor your progress and get your health back.

Will I need tests and if so, will they cost extra?

Laboratory tests may be recommended for us to gain a more thorough understanding of your condition and better inform your nutrition plan.  Some testing can be performed by your medical practitioner however other tests may need to be done by private laboratories. Ultimately it is your decision to undertake any testing.  The cost of testing is not included in your program package.

Can I just take supplements to remedy my condition?

As a nutritional therapist I take a food first approach to prioritize healthy choices and to remedy any deficiencies.  It may be appropriate to recommend a short-term therapeutic supplement plan when it is not possible to acquire the needed amount of a nutrient through diet.

Will I have to start cooking?

Adopting modifications to your diet does not mean you must learn to cook if you do not enjoy it or if cooking does not fit into your busy life. We will make a plan that suits your lifestyle and still accomplishes the changes you need to make.

Are you going to tell me to eat salad every day?
